Eravikulam National Park

Eravikulam national park is spread over an extensive area of 97 sq km along the crest of Western Ghats in the high ranges of Idukki district. Located 15 km from Munnar, it is one of most important tourist destinations in Kerala. The national park is managed by the Kerala Department of Forest and Wildlife, Munnar.

Anamudi Peak

Situated at a distance of 15kms from Munnar, it is the highest peak in South India and also the highest after the Himalaya- Karakoram range at a height of 8842 mts above the sea level. Located inside the Eravikulam National Park, it is one of the most popular trekking destinations in Kerala. The trek starts at foothill of Eravikulam and takes at least 3 days to cover the trek. It is advisable to have some prior trekking experience before embarking upon this journey.


A 13-km drive from Munnar on a winding road cutting through lush greenery would take you to the Mattupetty hills. The hills are situated at about 1,700 m above sea level. Besides the green rolling hills, the attractions here include a dam, lake and a dairy farm of international standards. About 7 km from Mattupetty is Kundala, another beautiful picnic spot where large green tea plantations and a dam with a scenic reservoir await travellers.

Top Station

Hidden in the amazing green valleys of Munnar, this stunning destination is one of Kerala’s most beautiful hill towns, yet to be explored by many tourists. Top Station is located around 32 km away from Munnar, on the Munnar-Kodaikkanal road, at a height of 1700 meters above the sea level. This place falls on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, and so it offers a clear view of the panoramic Western Ghats and the valley of Theni District in Tamil Nadu.

Kolukkumalai Tea Estate

At Kolukkumalai, tea is grown at an altitude of around 8000ft. This is world’s highest grown tea. And the best part, the processing it done at the top of the hill at around 7500ft, in factory built in the 1930s.The drive up to the top of the mountain is the craziest experience you will ever have.

Elephant Lake

This astonishing lake is bestowed with ample of natural splendor and enclosure of lush forests, tea plantations and small hills add a lot to its beauty. Numerous elephants from the Munnar forest visits this lake to drink water, so, it is called the Elephant Lake. If you are a photography enthusiast, then you must definitely visit Elephant Lake, which is also referred as Anayirangal or Elephant Arrival Lake.

Attukad Waterfalls

A panorama of waterfalls and rolling hills, Attukad, located between Munnar and Pallivasal, is a feast for the eyes. The place is also ideal for long treks. These water falls cool down one’s mind and provide a soothing experience even to disturbed minds.
